How does a Double Orifice Air Release Valve work?
Air emission through two orifices an operator is not required for valves. After the first start-up, these valves rely on natural law for buoyancy and do not require operators. The double orifice air release valve floats at the bottom of the orifices when an empty pipeline is being filled for the first time. At this time, the valve is free to discharge air. When water arrives and fills the opening, the floats rise with it, closing snugly on the sealing rings and preventing water from escaping. The little air pockets that get caught in the pipeline are gathered in the small orifice chamber, where the float slides down a bit and lets the air out. The float securely plugs the hole with increasing water, preventing water from leaking out. When the water leaves the valve chamber and the water is discharged, the floats in the pipeline fall down, allowing air into the pipeline. This keeps the pipeline from fracturing.
