Differentiate between Capacitor and Resistor
The main difference between a capacitor and a resistor is that while a capacitor is an electronic device used to store electricity in the form of a charge, a resistor is an electronic device used to resist or block a current in a circuit. Capacitors can basically store electrical charge for a short time, and resistors block current in the circuit.

The main difference between a capacitor and a resistor is that while a capacitor is an electronic device used to store electricity in the form of a charge, a resistor is an electronic device used to resist or block a current in a circuit. Capacitors can basically store electrical charge for a short time, and resistors block current in the circuit.

When the capacitor is connected to the circuit due to its insulating layer, the DC circuit cannot pass through the circuit and is stored as a load on the wires. On the other hand, when a resistor is connected to a circuit, it absorbs electricity and distributes energy in the form of heat.

What is a capacitor?

A Capacitors in Pakistan  is essentially a passive element of an electrical circuit that has the ability to store energy in the form of an electrical charge which creates a potential difference in the plate. There are many capacitors of various sizes available, including very small ones used in tuning circuits and large capacitors used to regulate the power factor. It consists of two parallel (or more) metal plates that do not touch each other, but are electrically separated (from air or other objects such as mica, plastic, etc.). This insulating layer between the conductive plates is called a dielectric.

Due to the presence of an insulating layer, no direct current can pass through the capacitor, but a voltage in the form of an electric charge is created around the plates. On the other hand, when the capacitors are connected to an AC circuit, the current flows through a low resistance capacitor. It produces an electrical charge mainly through external voltage. In this way, it stores electrons only for energy storage and subsequently emits a charge when needed.

Capacitors in Pakistan can be classified as fixed capacitors which indicate a constant value capacitance and do not control its behavior and as variable capacitors which exhibit controlled behavior during circuit operation. The formula for obtaining the capacitance is C = Q / V. The capacitance (in capacity) is equal to the load (suspension) divided by the voltage (in volts).

What is resistance?

Resistance is another important part of the electrical circuit. It reduces and blocks the flow of electricity in the circuit. The resistance of the resistor is measured by the energy that can be propagated in an electrical circuit. It helps to limit the charge rate of the capacitor, controls the frequency response of the RF circuits and acts as a voltage divider of the circuit.

When a resistor is connected to a circuit, it controls the flow of charge by absorbing an electrical charge and subsequently dissipating it as heat. The two main measures of resistors are resistance (measured in watts) and output power (measured in watts).

The resistor can be classified as a fixed resistor where the recommended resistance value is constant and as a variable resistor that provides adjustable resistance when connected to a circuit.

The main differences between a capacitor and a resistor:

  1. A capacitor is an electronic component that stores electricity in the form of a charge, and a resistor is an electronic component that limits, controls, or blocks the current in a circuit.
  2. A capacitor is used to separate the positive and negative charges and a resistor is used to control the current in other circuit components.
  3. The capacitor collects electricity as a charge in conductive cables, and the resistor absorbs and distributes electricity as heat.
  4. The capacitor causes no energy loss and the resistor does.
  5. Capacitance is measured in farads by dividing the load voltage and resistance is measured in distortion by dividing the voltage by current.

Conclusion

Both the capacitor and the resistor are important elements of the electrical circuit. They fix the conduction of the circuit and are connected by conductive cables.
