Mahatma Gandhi said “The Gita”, “is not a historical discourse. Physical demonstrations are often necessary to prove spiritual truth. It is not a description of a war between cousins, but between the two natures within us, good and evil.” The battle described in the Bhagavad Gita is not confined to any particular historical setting. Sri Krishna's message is still as valid today as it was centuries ago; and it will remain that way tomorrow, because it represents the truth of eternal life, that the fiercest battle we have to fight to do is to confront all that is selfish, wilful, and detached within us.
