Frsky xSr receiver

Compared with mini D8, frsky xSr has up to 16 channels (1-16ch in SBUs and 1-8ch in CPPM) and is a multi-purpose radio receiver.

XSr receiver is a compact and lighter version of X4R frsky receiver, which is very popular with FPV pilots.

Like me, maybe many other people have the same question: "is Taranis Q X7 compatible with frsky xSr receivers?" searching for rcgroups, I found that they were lucky. D16 is the "preferred" frsky protocol. However, both modules (Rx and TX) must comply with the same RF rules (FCC or CE / EU LBT).

Binding process of xSr receiver

After you connect the frsky receiver to the flight controller, you need to pair the RX module with your existing transmitter (TX) before flying.

First, you need to set the transmitter to "D16" and select the "bind" option. The next step is to open the xSr module while you press and hold the "F / s" (fail safe) micro button.

If the binding is successful, the green LED on frsky xSr will start flashing under TX command.

Note: a transmitter can be bound to multiple RX modules, while a receiver can be bound to only one emitter.

Last words

When it comes to multi rotor, we all love frsky radio. They have tonal features, comfortable use, good price tags, and last but not least, they are very reliable. Whether you choose the frsky Mini D8 or the multipurpose frsky xSr for your Taranis transmitter, you cannot fail.
