What are the rules of playing the Rummy game?
Indian Rummy is a classic card game for two to four players. It's played by collecting and discarding cards in melds and runs.

The goal of Indian Rummy is to be the player with the fewest unmatched or worthless cards at the end of the play, counting pairs and triples as they are made, not as they are discarded. A player who cannot go out loses if all others still in have gone out. If two or more players are tied, the player who drew the lowest number of cards in their meld wins. The object of Rummy is to be the first person to go out. To do so, one must meld with four or more cards (1-4) and have at least nine unmatched cards at the end of the play (5,6, or 7 available for melds). This gives a more giant hand than anyone else. In most games, four suits are used, but some variations use as many as six.

Several variations in the Rummy game

One is that Rummy is a super game. Like regular Rummy, the player's goal is to get rid of their cards as quickly as possible by melding and laying off cards in exact sequences (runs). The player who discards their last card wins. Another is Rummy Ombre. In this variant, players use a deck of cards with the same number of suits so that melds consist of at least one card in each case. A player can lay off cards in any order. There are many variations on this theme, but it is an entertaining game for 4 to 6 players who each have a complete set of suits.

The Deal: All cards are dealt out clockwise. If there is a joker, it is placed in the middle of the table. If there is only one joker, a player with the card of the suit to which the joker belongs takes the card. Playing: Each player tries to meld or lay off all their cards in sequences (four or more cards). If a player plays an arrangement, she must keep her next turn if she can lay off another line.

Discarding: A player must always meld or lay off at least one card a turn after playing.

The player can discard all of their cards.

In the game of Rummy, players create melds and run to try and discard all of their coins. To form a meld, a player places two or more cards that are of the same rank (i.e., two 10s) in a row on the table. They may be faced up or faced down but must be touching each other. The rows are then turned over one at a time so that any other face-down cards can be seen. This continues until only one card remains in each row or meld. Any player can discard all of their cards, leaving the hand empty. Doing so earns them a bonus point equal to half the total melds and runs. Likewise, if they have been able to complete all their melds and runs, they earn an even greater bonus.

Conclusion

The game ends when everyone has either ended the game or at an agreed-upon time limit. The winner is the player who is able to fill up the score sheets with 100 points first. When a player has a meld/run of that rank, they score 2 points per card in the meld. For example, if they have five cards of the same level and another five face-down cards, they would score 20 points.
