Choose ‘Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library’

  • Steam contains a choice that allows users to add non-Steam games to its library of games. First of all, locate the path of a folder for the game to add to Steam by holding the Win + E keys at once
  • You should go to the File Explorer and launch this path: C:Program FilesWindowsApps.
  • When that folder has denied authorization, right-click on it and choose the Properties option.
  • Thereafter go to the Security button.
  • You should select the Advanced option to launch the window displayed directly below.
  • Navigate to the Change option to launch the screen displayed directly below.
  • Then you have to input the title for the listed user account in the Principal file on the Permissions button. For example, when the Principal title is Users, enter that and select OK.
  • You should tick the box of ‘Replace owner on subcontainers and objects.’
  • Thereafter hold the Apply button and OK tabs.
  • You have to launch WindowsApps folder and browse for the folder which contains the Microsoft Store game you would like to add to Steam. Write down the path of a full folder for it.
  • After that, launch Steam software.
  • You should select Games and choose ‘Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library.’
  • When the ‘Add a Game’ screen which launches lists the Microsoft Store game application, pick it and select Add Selected Programs.
  • When the Microsoft Store game is not listed, go to the Brose tab.
  • Now choose the Microsoft Store game within the previously noted folder path. 
  • You have to select Open tab.
  • Finally, choose the listed new game at the ‘Add a Game’ screen, and then select ‘Add Selected Programs.’
Adding Microsoft Store Games to Steam with UWPHook
